Hi all bringing back the wild dagger
« on: August 10, 2010, 11:50:19 AM »
Hi all I've been into RC cars for a while but only own a road going Tl-01 which I raced around my road with my brother I never really modded it but I got a few shells and it was fast enough to just enjoy. Then I started doing other things school became more important and then I started working and it got pushed to the back of the shelf for a few years, recently I got it out for a blast and bought a new shell to paint as a replica for my real car and realised just how fun it was.

After playing around with my car for a while I thought if I really want some fun ill get an off road truck to bash around the garden, after a quick scout on eBay saw two wild daggers complete with radio gear hardly used and a Tl-01b as a rolling chassis in a bundle along with various bits n bobs (two charges four batteries etc..) So I bought the lot sold one wild dagger to my brother and kept the other the (Tl01b is currently being repaired with the intention of reselling)

As anyone who has a dagger knows its impossible not to mod then so mine soon had an extra battery cable tied on the chassis and an EVX 2 with Titan 550 motors to give me a great little bundle capable of popping wheelies and a brilliantly fast speed for the garden.

Ive now fitted one Ezrun 9t combo to my truck and given my brother the 14.4v EVX setup unfortunately after two runs something in my gearbox has broken so now I'm going to repair and rebuild and see how far this little truck can go.

I know a wild dagger is old and people have moved on but its a really cool truck in my opinion and I get far more from building my own things than buying a ready made Traxxas or HPI model.

Well that's a little bit about me and what I'm doing here I hope to eventually get some pictures and a little build thread up to share my progress, I hope some of you will enjoy seeing another wild dagger still being used Rather than just dismissing it.

Sorry about the EPIC post, thanks for reading.

Matt
