Maybe smaller scales, or even 1/8, 1/5 no way.

That'll zip around for 15-20 minutes and then need a lengthy recharge. Mine will run for 45 and take seconds to refill

Er, and just how much money do you have to spend on a full e;ectric conversion, with lipo's and chargers? A huge amount would be spent getting it to this kind of spec.

Stu, EPIC find! That guy is some engineer! Looks like he spends time building 1:1 cars anyway, so that really is just a toy!!

The other thing with the baja is the engine is actually integral to the chassis, the rear end basically bolts onto that and in turn that's bolted to the front of the chassis. So remove the motor and you have to use some serious bracing. Al la this:

That's a guy named Serum's, there another on the baja forum which is being done by Mike from rc-monster with the purpose of being a kit. Should that happen consider me as a willing,  buyable donor  Kidney, lung, heart although I want cash upfront for the heart

Here's a little gem from youtube:

great video stu , i understand there would be some fabrication work involved , to convert one of these iam not apose to that as it is my trade .but i know some might find it a little to much work , great pic of a pro conversion above , r/c monster are it seems the best at this sorta thing , but as savageman said the cost of such a conversion could outway the benafits , then of course as you said you would not get the run time a gas motor can provide , much easier just to fill up your tank then of you go , but my experiance with gas engines and nitro is more down time less run time due to high maintanence . such as replacing cluches air leaks . and tuning issues , i guess its the lesser of two evils . thanks for the vid stu .. Its clever, but for me the whole point of running a petrol engine is to get the 30min + run times. Converting to battery we cancel out this benefit and reduce it to nitro run times.

However, you could run without the noise hassle, and the cost would be offset to a point by selling the engine etc from you kit.

I think Brushless and Lipo is perfect for 1/10th, 1/8th is pushing it but for 1/5th we need another 3-4 years for the tech to get cheaper.

i understand colin and of course i agree . petrol motors do give that run time that nothing else can beat . guess i just have a thing about the hole maintanence thing with engines , . it would be a while before these systems are cheap enough for the average man in the street to be able to do such a conversion . due to there high cost but such a day will come in the not so distante future , along with better run times due to more advance batterie tec , it may be here sooner than most think .. thanks colin .. Well here, let me try and convert you

TGN's (distributor of Baja stuff) stand at RCX, some beautiful 5b/5t's there. The protecta (5T pulling a full roll caged 5T on a trailer) is especially sweet.

hi stu WOW they look great as i said before i have always liked this model it is very pleasing to the eye . i am some what open minded about the hole thing since we started our conversation about these r/c i have been looking at them more and more , more so on the shangi hummer . and big foot there price is very good , not seen to many clone baja , would you reccomend one of these r/c stu what are the pitfalls and drawbacks if any .. ;) ;)
