question about raising tc4 ride height
« on: April 13, 2009, 10:22:55 PM »
Hi everyone,

can it be done?

The problem is that the chassis hits every stone that it comes across, the stones are tiny and i only drive it on tarmac roads, i have actually taken a brush to my street but they find they're way back.

i moved the bottom of the shocks inwards to the next hole but it still scrapes,  is there anything im doing wrong it only needs 5mm and my chassis is really badly scratched, i havent seen any oter posts about this so im gessing i am doing something wrong lol ???

Hey abarth 1200,

Just done a bit of reaserch checking out your car on-line and found a pretty good picture of the shocks and it looks like the main case is threaded at the top and there is like some kind of nut at the top of the spring now if it's like my shock which also have that same feature then it's that top nut you need to adjust but not sure which way just a case of trail and error hope this helps you on your way to solving the problem.and start saving the bottom of the chassis O0

Hey i know you lol.

Its not adjustable there,  if i turn that shock oil will come pouring out, i know what you mean though like on real cars suspension,  theyre are shims that sit between it and the spring collar, i believe i could find bigger shims but not 5mm, thats pushing it a bit on the dampers, i cant pull them apart further than they are when i had them out for cleaning

ps i just turned that nut to double check and were a bit low on oil in that shock now lol :)
