Bonzer truggy! Its awsome but i have a question....
« on: April 01, 2009, 12:02:03 PM »
Hey guys.  Quick question if i may...
I bought myself a Bonzer Truggy 4wd brushless RC truck   28)

Its a great first purchase and sorry if im not that technical in my description but im fairly new to this RC field.
Im fairly sure its a TAMIYA TL01 varient... correct me if im wrong..  :P

I managed to breat the rear plastic knuckle and so ordered some metal blue alloy ones as replacement.
I looked up the part number and bought the following...

However the threading on the smaller upper arm isnt the same as the thread on the pin that fits into it...
 :-\
Any one have any ideas why it isnt threaed the same diameter as my truggy?
and /or how do i fit these parts?
If you want any mroe details or a picture to help just say so?
Thanks in advance!

... because that's a Tamiya TL01 part and your Bonzer isn't a TL01.

There will be these differences, this is how they get around it being an exact clone of the original. Make this bigger, that smaller rotate that and voila! instant knock-off.

Ok many thanks for the reply.
I guess i must ask the obvious question.
Does any one what what my RC bonzer is classed as so i know what spares to go hunting for?
I can show you the UK web site i bought it from?

Huge thanks so far.. i knew i must have ordered the wrong piece.
just for the record i also have a 'sheet' of spares labeled as... Tamiya TL-01 B parts - upright.  These aprear to be the correct varients for my model, as the 'knuckle spares fit perfectly.
Cheers

You will indeed find many of the TL01b parts will fit the Bonzer truck. I would not say 100% of them, but most should fit without a problem

Cool ok.  So im stuck with my Blue alloy rear knuckles as seen below then   :(  They are definitly the wrong part for my truck.
I will search for them with the TL01b as my search criteria.

If anyone knows where to source sed knuckles from do please give me a shout!

In the meantime here is a cool pic of my beast :)
