Bring on the clones!!
« on: March 21, 2009, 08:14:38 PM »
Just won this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250392047359&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123

Basically it's a DDM Dominator exhaust rip-off, but for £38 instead of £120 I thought "Well, why not?"

A few pics of the beast all mounted up. It's also sporting a modified rc rear bumper and chacal rc cage risers to stop it melting the cage.

here is a intresting review from a owner of the king motors clone ,  at r/c universe from what i can gather the end result is you end up forking out for a rebuild so what you saved whent on replacing broken or weak parts . in that case you may aswell buy the real deal at least hpi will give a warrantie and honour it here it is kinda long winded ..http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7249314/tm.htm................this is the kinda thing iam talking about in this video it is a king motors read the comments from the owner , dont think i will be getting one any time soon ..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STETdpcHlHM

well i have been looking at these r/c again and the shengi hummer did some more research and i think i will scrap the idea , they look great and all and the price is good i just dont whant to spend what i saved on rebuilding it with hpi parts , there seems to be a lot that goes wrong with these r/c from reading the threads at r/c universe both on the king motors and shangi .. everyything from gears to A arms  to pull starts and even poor quality plastic wheels , so onward and upward ..
