i gt me an mta4
« on: March 21, 2009, 07:30:50 PM »
after saving up i was going to buy the traxxas slash, but went shopping yesterday, saw the thunder tiger mta4 and just had to have it, run it in this morning and been driving on a field near-by.
very good performance, had no trouble running it in.
any hop-ups recommended for it? the wheels are something that definatley have to go.

Agreed the wheels are not great on the MTa's

Apart from that I'd just do the usual steering servo and 6v hump pack. The rest is pretty much spot on anyway.

as mentioned in the pics i posted in gallery i had a problem with the pullstart breaking after a few pulls on it, and i didnt thread lock the little screws for the driveshaft at the front and ended up having to order another one :(.
what mm hex would you say these are? just don,t wanna buy any and then they be wrong, going to order some wheels in next day or two, the shells not too bad but in time going to get another shell for it too.
cheers.

good choice, on mine i have proline 40s with one set mashers, for the rough, and one set bowie, for the dirt , i would recomend swoping the steering servo cable in the reciver, to the battery socket, and the battery to the steering servo socket.
reason being when you put your piggy back battery in, you give the steering servo a full 6v.
this makes a hell of a diffrence. so dont wast money there, they aint so bad them servos.
get a set of sway bars, on ebay around £18,
know i use 45 shock oil, and red and gold springs on the shocks.
oh yer, check every nut bolt and screw when new.
hope this helps
