Hi there mate :bye:

I'm from the n/e however there is a place not too far away from you called rc demon in Hyde.www.rcdemon.co.uk
They specialise in 1/5scale petrol (don't know about on road) i have used them quite a lot recently and find them really good and very helpful.
If you are looking for an offroad er your best bet would probably be the hpi baja range 5b prices start at about £600 (rtr)then theres the baja 5bss around £700 in kit form and i don't think you get any electrics with it or theres the new baja 5t which is about £800(rtr).
There is also a baja clone from hong kong, japan (where ever )for about £300 but if you read the reports on the forum about it(cheap electrics dodgy diff, bits breaking i would stay well away)or there is always eBay you would probably get a good second hand 1 off there as i did with a few upgrades.Parts are really easy to get hold of, again there s loads of stuff on eBay but i will warn you upgrades are quite expensive as i have been finding out lately.
Apart from that they are quite an impressive machine and should give you hours of fun and a tank of unleaded petrol mixed with 2 stroke will last you about 45mins.
Hope this has been helpful to you mate let us know how you get on O0
