First rock crawler
« on: November 03, 2008, 09:03:36 PM »
well i have been into rc cars, boats, planes, helicopters ect for years and in the last year or two i have got into nitro buggy's and trucks but i have decided i wanted a new electric rc crawler. I want something that is capable in mud and water but is still able to crawl but it doesn't have to be great at crawling, but i don't have a huge budget to spend on it as i am into quad and dirt bike racing and that takes up most of my money lol. I have been looking at the nylint 1/18 rock crawler and i really like it, however i don't know how it does in mud and water, please help  ;)

Seeing as no one else has replied I will give you a pennys worth.

Have a search on you tube nylint 1/18 rock crawler.

There is another option and will prob be slated - go to the nitrotek website and look at the Bonzer. £80 and just swap the standard motor for a 55 turn motor and super glue for the tyres to the rims. The bonzer is based on the Tamiya TL01 chassis. Should get easily away with £100 and change. And you can always change back to have a fast vehicle with as well.

That should increase the torque and reduce speed for better crawling capability. Not brilliant I know.

At the end of the day depends on how much you want to spend - including new parts when anything goes wrong.

hi, i have recently purchased a nylint 1:18 crawler and found it to be a right laugh. saw one on e-bay(in radio controls search bar type rock crawler) starting bid at £17 + p&p(£7), for what you get it's pretty good for the cash,as a starting block to crawling
could get into this :D
