Understeer/Oversteer - Help
« on: April 04, 2008, 07:14:55 AM »
Hi All,

i have had some great help on here so after some advice.

I have got myself and Hot Bodies Stadium Pro after running the Lightning 10 and loving it.

I have just one problem with it, on power I have major amounts of over steer and off power I have major amounts of under steer.

My big question is what would case this and what can I do to sort it?

If anyone has any good starting points (eg diff oils shock angles etc) for me to set the car to for starters that would also be great. I need to get it half decent as I am racing it this weekend in the 2 hour charity endurance race at the weekend.

Thanks for your help guys.

Hi jon
i ran the lsp pro for a year racing so know a bit lol ,
out the box the lsp has no diff oil just some grease thats your initial problem
diff oils is as follows
starting at the front
7f 10mid 3 rear thats a good base line startup i found on high grip tracks that the middle i upped to 20 but apart from that it went brill , shock oil i used 25front 30 rear this gave me a good flat line jump no nose diving , also the stock tank i changed to a helfire one giving more runtime and then changed the hubs to 17mm and used truggy wheels  O0 use a good servo on the steering and you can dremmel the plastic rod ends slightly to give a better turning radius  ;)
hope this helps

Hi rob,

Thank you for your reply, I was hoping you would be in contact as I see you were selling your LSP.

I have 6000 and 8000 oil to had so will try them, admittally it is FG ashock oil but the thickness should the the same.

Anything to get the handling better would be good, as for springs I have white on the front and light blue on the back. Unfortunately I do not know what strength they are  :upset:

The track we have is very interesting, half the service is a hard clay (very slippery when wet) and half high grip soil (same wet or dry).

As for Jumping I have the body spoilter on, will change to the rear mounted one later, it is perfect.

I have the 14mm hexes and have the Hot Bodies Truggy wheels and tyres on.

Any more advice will be great.

Hi All and Especially Rob,

I have sussed where the understeer was from, I had all the breaking on the front and none on the rear which was resulting the understeer.

I have changed that and it works great.

Hi Rob,

Here is a hsot of it on our track, it shows the suspension working hard.

The wall ride behind was real fun, and with the set up of the LSP now I can get it almost perfect every time.

Also the event was a great success, will post more about this in the club section.
