New site Logo
« on: October 19, 2007, 06:13:06 PM »
As a site, RCkingdom has never really had a site logo. I want to give us a new logo, but cannot really create something that I can settle on.

I have come up with the two attached images so far. These use the colours red, white and blue which is a must as more colours would make it expensive to do decals. They are also the colours of our National flag, also important. I need a design that is simple to replicate, yet instantly noticeable.

Let me know what you think, and I encourage any designs to be added to the mixing pot O0

That's very smart mate.

I'll get working and see if I can come up with anything now I have a little time.

Crumbs, I'd totally forgotten about this! :-\ I'll see if I can come up with anything when I get a moment, but those designs you've done Colin look good! Simple and smart. O0

Looks good Stu but might not be practical.

Stickers for that design would be difficult to make, as would t-shirts if screen printing was used. Every extra colour adds a layer and a cost, there is Black, Grey, Red, Blue and White there. 5 against 3 of Colin's design, so for a t-shirt point of view that's half the number of screens that need to be made, so perhaps a huge saving.

Similar with sticker printing where for each colour the machine needs to be re-aligned. Not cheap  :(

A simple, plain and bold logo is what is needed IMO.

Depends entirely on what is wanted i guess. Simpler is better as far as web-hosting goes. Simple text, no outline? No patern overlay? 2-3 colours?
Go with your original design Colin, if thats all you need, but if you need a high quality header, then go all out and a bit more flairy!  2:)

Do what everyone else does, have an uber-cool full effect one for the website, and a plain 1/2 colour one for the merch and decals... etc

Some great efforts there guys.................

I still feel there is an ace up someones sleeve with this. There must be something that simply screams RC in the UK just waiting to be created.

I like the idea of a flashier website version of the logo, but the simplified version I feel needs to look very similar and instantly recognisable.

Here's my offering. This one would be for the site, and I decided to go for a bit of a different format to what we've had before. Only thing is that it might be difficult to actually integrate into the site because of the shape? I know they're not great, but thought I'd chuck 'em into the pot. A decal version wouldn't be difficult. Two slight variations...

Hopefully I'll come up with something a bit better lol.

What exactly is needed? Do you want something like this................

Or just a banner like this.........................

Obviously the latter would have an R/C theme, but you get the picture( so to speak!!)
