Anything Traxxas can do, Schumacher can do better!!
« on: October 18, 2007, 03:00:19 PM »
Who cares if the new Maxx is out by Traxxas.... when the new fusion is out from Schumacher!?!?!

Basically a Fusion 21, but with a lovely Picco .28 engine, a proper tuned pipe instead of the old mufler and some foam tyres.... sweet!

You will be sorry!!!

LOL.  :P :P

To be honest I think it looks awesome, the cover is needed as the gears are only glass fibre reinforced polymer, and as such will strip if a stone got in. So the cover saves a lot of money.

I think the main problem is the use of their S1 composite, when you see one with full proper carbon fibre top deck and shock towers it will transform the look. Schumacher rock  :)

Doesn't compare to the E-Maxx... Just isn't as well polished.

Schumacher were the first with purple alloy, HPI copied Schumacher. Schumacher rock. New Schumacher CAT on the way too, so when I start laping you down Lee's track.....  :P

Flanders - good to see you on here. You need to be around RcK more often, it rocks mate. You can't say Schumachers are rubbish, you all know deep down you love it  :D

Schumachers were good in the 80's mate. Now i'm a fully fledged CML team driver with Associated i think you will find the B4 is the bollocks!

How's your mate Rod on raceprat??

Hmmm...looks ok, though I'm not sure about that cooling head. Obviously it's meant to be low-profile, but it looks like someone sat on it. :bad:

The other thing that puzzles me is that the old Fusion 21 had a claimed top speed of 80mph. This has a bigger engine...and still 80mph! ??? I know that you'd never realistically get up to those speeds, but surely the theoretical top end would be faster. Still, I imagine it'll look smarter with carbon fibre parts and a different cooling head. The handling's probably going to be pretty decent too, with R12 geometry. O0
For the best R/C product news, reviews and forums, visit www.rckingdom.co.uk!

Cold Fusion Status: Not running, due to broken suspension arm.
Air Fury Status: Pretty much running. Needs new battery setup (overheating badly), and soon, motors.
Electrical Storm Status: Under construction; 25% complete. Will finish it sometime before the earth is swallowed up by the sun.
TBX (Tamiya Brushless Xtreme) Status: STILL waiting to be sold as an "almost-roller". PM me if interested!
King Bee Status: Almost flying, just needs a few bits and some repairs.
Solaris Status: It flies! Ailerons are rubbish, but it flies. Just doesn't like landing...
Project X: So secret, it doesn't even have a codename!

Not sure about that cooloing head, looks a little TOO squat. Guess that's what happens with a .28 in a TC. Stupid power, not enough contact patch to get it down on the tarmac. Seems too much like a gimmick, but then I guess the Rascal did a couple years ago............

RE: Speed.

The old Fusion was a 60-70mph car, the 80mph was only with optional gearing as they stated on their site. I've seen one clocked slightly down hill at 89mph with the thunder tiger 21...... got a photo to prove that one too.

The new car will not only have awesome grip with R12 suspension as DT has said, the old one was glued as it was. The foams tyres will grip more too. It comes with same gearing as the old optional, but the .28 has more torque so it will get to 80, and quickly too! No doubt Schumacher will bring out optional gearing for those with space to take it further.
