TL01 Buggy Converstion
« on: September 18, 2007, 12:00:54 PM »
Hi guys,

Just bought a TL01 kit, bought it more for the shell, and am looking into whats needed to convert it to TL01B spec. Whats involver? Is it just as simple as longer arms and buggy wheels and tyres? Was just gonna use it as a rally car, but thought why not give it a bit more off road ability. And I reckon it would look pretty good with buggy running gear and a care type shell.

Would the parts I need be available on they're own on a seperate tree, or would it be a case of buying a tree with loads of parts that I don't want.

Cheers guys

Gazza

AS its tamiya its trees im afraid  :-X but you always end up needin those spares anyway  :P

well essentially yes the arms etc will need changing, i would image that the shock towers would also be different for a buggy and the car  O0

soo...

A-arms
driveshafts
push rods etc
shock mounts
shocks
wheels + tyres

essentially all that will remain the same will be the chassis (TL01)
Never guna b finished - Twin force
Beefed/messed up - Mad bull

PARKOUR - DeFy GrAvItY

It's actually pretty easy mate. Jimbob's almost right. You need the following:

-TL01B upper and lower arms
-TL01B driveshafts (Twin Detonator ones, they're 70mm long I think)
-TL01B steering tie-rods
-TL01B wheels/tyres

...and that's about it I think. Just remember to use small pinions, and don't use the Speed Tuned gear set. If you need help finding part numbers, then just say. O0 Let us know how you get on!

Cold Fusion Status: Not running, due to broken suspension arm.
Air Fury Status: Pretty much running. Needs new battery setup (overheating badly), and soon, motors.
Electrical Storm Status: Under construction; 25% complete. Will finish it sometime before the earth is swallowed up by the sun.
TBX (Tamiya Brushless Xtreme) Status: STILL waiting to be sold as an "almost-roller". PM me if interested!
King Bee Status: Almost flying, just needs a few bits and some repairs.
Solaris Status: It flies! Ailerons are rubbish, but it flies. Just doesn't like landing...
Project X: So secret, it doesn't even have a codename!

Received my kit in the post yesterday morning. Took it home after work and it took me 2 1/2 hours including time to eat bangers and mash to build the chassis.

Ride height is a bit higher than my TT01 and it goes well on chippings and things. Gonna see how it goes before I do the convo, gotta try to start reining in my spending, ebay is evil!!! lol

Il let you know how it goes if I do it.
