That may be OK, but, to be safe, go with the ECO 20.
The Eco 27 is only for Tamiya "Silver" can motors, really.
As I said earlier, I'm using their TOTR one, which is a sledgehammer to crack a walnut, but, ya know :D

ECO20 and you'll be fine.

Lights and nearly finished

I've pretty much finished it today, and I'm very pleased with it. Total cost including the Jeep is ?21.00, which ain't bad for something as capable as this O0

You can see I've got rid of the awful orange shell, and it is now a matt grey. Its just a primer, but I felt it looked so good as it was. It is a German war time colour, and does the job. I had to file away some of the front end because of the massive twist the axle now gets. I've done it in such a way that it does not show.

I also added lights to the front and rear, although this still need to be linked up to a switch. The electrics have been tidyed up and secured. The body has been lifted, again had to be done as I didn't want to hack the body.

I've had a little play indoors but with a wood floor there is no grip to show off how good it is. I'll do a better video when I get some day light. I'm working on a system to pull the springs back if it over flexs, and what I've come up with works a treat, but I need some washers before I can fit it.

I'll start work on another one soon, maybe use my Monster Beetle shell on that one O0

Parts basically, I need to pop to B@Q ;)

With your speed problem, are you sure the hi/low selector hasn't shifted? Also the motor can slip from the gearbox, so check that, mine did first time i removed the axle cover O0

The standard controller is not proportional, just on/off so everything sounds ok.

I didn't cut anything to extend the axles, just removed the single blue bar that the axles spins on and replaced it with woodern dowling. This is screwed at one end (same end as plastic bit was) and rubberbands hold the axle onto the dowel. Very simple and effective, so I'm keeping it like that now O0

i cant believe that something that look like that only cost 22 quid to build, its made, i like the sus mod, very clever,

on the ESC mod do you have to reverse the wires so red with red nd white with white?

No, red to white and white to red as in the picture. Just test of one motor at a time to get the motor direction right before you wire them together. You can really mess much up, even if you wire it incorrectly. At worst, it just won't work.

Sweet, looks a heck of a lot more capable.

Got more info on the front suspension setup? What is it just a servo arm on a long bolt? 'Cos it looks like it's on a bearing in the pics...

I'm just waiting for my Mum to come home, God knows where she is but she has the tub chassis bit in her car (B&Q run) so I can't really do anything much...

I was thinking of bringing in the shocks in-line with the holes on the chassis tub, this way it'll keep its butt in the air and also be able to articulate like crazy. I saw a mono-shock one on RCcrawler, and it seems to work pretty well... *ideas*ideas*

Yep, that exactly what it is O0 The bearing is just being used as a spacer. I really did raid the spares box to do this ::)

As soon as I get get home in the light I'll get some better images of the set-up. It does work though, but does need the rubber band system to pull the shocks back after a large twist.

I've cut the tyres as well, but can't comment on this till it have been better tested.

Cool, nice work guys O0

I've extended mine about 1" either way (with some big 8mm bolts from B&Q) crazy articulation... At the minute I'm working on  the rear shock setup, as I said I'm pulling the shocks in-line verticle with the top fixings on the rear, trouble is the high/low switch and the rear mount get in the way... so I'm going to continue to have a play and see if I can make any progress, I'm on a late tomorrow so if I get up early enough I can have a play about with it. The idea came from RCC, there was one "ghetto modded" on it and the articulation was mad! Hopefully with this setup it'll give it tons of articulation but also keep the car body up and straight so it won't look like its on a tilt.

Well, happy modding >:D

Here she is, my finished Jeep. When I say finished, I mean it will do for now

I've very pleased with it and it is more than capable. I shot this video quickly this morning, you can tell by the wind :-\. I will do another when I have the tyre weights sorted and at a better crawling location.

How are the others coming along?

I'll start my other one soon, I'm going to try and mount either my Clod shell or Monster Beetle shell on that one O0

Nice, mines been neglected a bit at the moment due to a few things going on... Plus the inline rear shocks ended up turning into a mono-shock setup which didn't work... I extended it too far and had to make a bracket for the shock to attach to up top... it didn't work, plus it looked stupid to be honest, might try what you've done of the back LP, just to see how it looks...

Amazing how easy it is to go overboard on the modding isn't?

... If I just... Then I'll... and that'll allow me to...
