Today RSS has gone live on RcKingdom.
RSS is a powerful news feed technology, that may sound gibberish or you may already know all about it. Either way I think RcKingdom's news feed is great, and that this post, as long as it is, is well worth the read as once you learn to use it for RcK it will be the same for all other websites.
There are many ways to read RSS feeds, some stand alone programs and so on. However for this post I have chosen google, as it's what I use and I think it has the most practical use of RSS feeds of anything I have seen before. Remember you can use RcK news feed on any RSS, ATOM or OPML reader!
Anyone that uses google, which lets face it I most of the internet using population, may have noticed the 'Personalised Home' at the top of google.

When you click on it, it should come up with something a little like this:

Click the personalise your home page

Once you have clicked on it, you can remove any of the rubbish on it you don't want, change the location to give you accurate weather forecasts and so on.
You can even drag or drop each box by the title to suit yourself.

Now on the RcKingdom website, when you scroll down you should see the news feed links, like shown above, on the right hand side of the screen. Really you can ignore most of them, as unless you're a bit of a computer whiz they wont mean much to you. RSS 2.0 is what matters to most people.
When you click on this a window should open. Depending what program you use to browse the internet it may come up with something different. It may say 'Page can not be displayed' or 'incorrect format', it may even ask if you want to add the feed.
All of this is not important, what you want to worry about it the URL (the web address) of the feed, so in this case:

You can highlight and copy this link.
Then when you back to your personalised google home page. Click add content, then followed by 'create a new section'

Now paste the RSS feeds address into the box and click go. And that's it done, you have a RSS news feed added to google.
This is how mine looks:

As you can see I have all the latest from RcKingdom, but also Neo-buggy, BBC news, motorsport news and so on.
As I use google as my home page, it means every time I open up my web browser I can see all the latest from everything I am interested in, then I simply click on the link to find out more! So RSS will keep you up to date from the latest in the RC world thanks to RcKingdom!
