whats your favourite brand?
« on: October 16, 2005, 10:13:44 AM »
just have a quick vote on your favourite brand of car and hop-up maker,
and maybe a comment on your choice.

you also have two votes to use. :)

I've added CEN to the poll if anyone wants to vote for it.

I've voted Mugen as my buggy has been simply outstanding. And of course Schumacher!

Tamiya, because there's just something about their models (tough, fun, reliable and something I can't quite put my finger on!)...and HPI, because of their well-engineered trucks and they just seem to be a "nice" company...they are focused on making the RC hobby as fun for everyone to be in as possible, as opposed to just making as much money as they can. Cold Fusion Status: Not running, due to broken suspension arm.
Air Fury Status: Pretty much running. Needs new battery setup (overheating badly), and soon, motors.
Electrical Storm Status: Under construction; 25% complete. Will finish it sometime before the earth is swallowed up by the sun.
TBX (Tamiya Brushless Xtreme) Status: STILL waiting to be sold as an "almost-roller". PM me if interested!
King Bee Status: Almost flying, just needs a few bits and some repairs.
Solaris Status: It flies! Ailerons are rubbish, but it flies. Just doesn't like landing...
Project X: So secret, it doesn't even have a codename!

Right,

I gone for MUGEN..  they build/designed the best 1/8th buggy out there..  more reliable than a kyosho and that's saying something..   (--)

and second vote went for schumacher   :uk:..    since i've bought my 1/10th tourer..  it's shown to to me what ever one was going on about..

I've been thinking about this for some time now  :o and to be honest I don't have a favourite brand, I like my Thunder Tiger an enormous amount, I like my Mugen just as much, My Kyosho was really good too, I have a couple of little 1/18th scale trucks too and they are great fun as well  ::)

I think each and every RC I have owned have been really really good, they all do what I want them to do and if you look closely they're all pretty much the same (well nearly)

I think RC in general is my favourite brand, I can't get enough of it, be it racing or bashing. My little son Jack is fast becoming an addict too, no matter what RC I get out to play with makes him smile and start running about like a looney  :D

So I'd like to thank every car brand/manufacturer there is for making this such a fantastic hobby/sport  (--)

p.s. I voted Mugen and Thunder Tiger, cos thats what I got at the mo  :P

I agree with what rob has said as all manufacturers are giving us the models to coincide with our hobby  (--) but as you all know im a hpi fan so my first would be HPI as for my second choice it was harder as the ofna hyper and hotbodies are very good as well but voted for hotbodies which i think should be merged with hpi as they are  ;)
lol
but saying all that i just love the hobby so dont care  2:)
cheers rob

I had to vote for Tamiya as it was their Hornet that started me off in the world of RC at a tender age  after endless weeks of saying  'Can i have one of those please' everytime my mother draged me through town for the weekly shop 2:) 2:) 2:)

also i voted HoBao as i have had a PBS and now a Pro UK and found them a great buggies and best of all you can find bits for them everywhere so it is never off the track for long if i dont have the spares in stock O0 O0

I voted for Traxxas because of the pure technical brilliance and support. HPI have done wonders for  getting lots of people into RC that would have not normally. Why do you think they have done that though..... to make lots of money. My second choice would have been mardave as my first proper RC was a ministock but instead of moving forwards over the years they seem to have just stood still so they lost the vote for being lazy. I am going to go for Kyosho though for my second vote. I have had a few of their cars and they have always been good, infact I still have my Lazer ZXR.

I chose Tamiya as thats the brand that got me into RC and also I started racing with.

My second choice was "Other", Team Losi being the "other" as this is probably the brand I've had most "career" race wins with, aahhh......The Double X, those were the days :'(

lol ;D
